Customs & Taxes
Please note, customs and taxes may be applicable for some international orders, particularly customers residing in the US. If the charges have been applied to your parcel, you will receive an email from the shipping company with a link to make a payment as The Modest Mum is not responsible for this payment. If you are unsure or would like confirmation of the email you receive, please send a screenshot to enquiries@themodestmum.com as we also receive a notification email if charges have been requested. This also shows on the tracking information. Once the payment has been made your parcel will be given customs clearance and send on to the local courier.

Once the request for payment has been made, customers have 5 days to make the payment. In the event of customs and taxes refusal, please kindly note that after this time period the parcel will be returned to The Modest Mum. If the parcel is still required, the customer will be responsible for additional shipping fees. If the parcel is unwanted, shipping fees will be deducted from the refund.

Customs authorities require by law that we state the value of your order directly on the package. Customs agents have the right to release or deny release of your parcel and, in rare cases, they may also delay or reject delivery. We strive to provide accurate information when processing international orders, please familiarise yourself with your own countries policies before placing your order, unless of course you are happy you may incur additional charges.

Undeliverable parcels
If a package is refused, undeliverable and returned back to us, the cost of the shipping fee will be deducted from any refund due to the customer. Once received, the customer will be informed via email if they would like a refund, or if they would like their parcel posted back out for an additional shipping fee.

Refunds for undeliverable parcels
Please note, if the parcel was undeliverable and shows on the tracking information it has been returned to the sender, the refund will only be provided once the parcel has been received by The Modest Mum, unless proof from the shipping company is provided by the customer that the parcel has been lost in transit. It is the responsibility of the customer to check the status of the parcel and undertake any necessary enquiries. If you require additional assistance, please contact enquiries@themodestmum.com
